Prize Sharing Rules

4D POWERBALL

Sharing Jackpot 1

If there is more than one winner for Category 1, the Jackpot 1 prize will then be divided amongst all the Category 1 winners in direct proportion to the bet amounts of their respective winning bets. Each unit bet of RM2 is entitled to one (1) share of the Jackpot 1 prize.

Therefore, if there are 2 winners with the following winning bets:

  • Winner 1 has a winning bet of RM4
  • Winner 2 has a winning bet of RM2

Winner 1 will win 4 divided by (4 + 2) or 2/3 of Jackpot 1 prize
Winner 2 will win 2 divided by (4 + 2) or 1/3 of Jackpot 1 prize

But because the Jackpot 1 is divided into 3 different categories – Jackpot 1 1st Prize (100%), Jackpot 1 2nd Prize (50%) and Jackpot 1 3rd Prize (25%), certain scenarios may occur as illustrated below :-

Prize Single Winner
Jackpot 1
1st Prize – 100%
1 winner = 100% x RM10 million = RM10 million won

** in this scenario, the whole Jackpot 1 amount has been won, so the Jackpot 1 amount will start from RM2 million again for the next draw.
Prize Single Winner
Jackpot 1
2nd Prize – 50%
1 winner = 50% x RM10 million = RM5 million won

** in this scenario, half of Jackpot 1 amount has been won, so the Jackpot 1 amount will be RM5 million for the next draw.
Prize Single Winner
Jackpot 1
3rd Prize – 25%
1 winner = 25% x RM10 million = RM2.5 million won

** in this scenario, a quarter of Jackpot 1 amount has been won, so the Jackpot 1 amount will be RM7.5 million for the next draw.

Multiple Winners for Jackpot 1 - 1st, Jackpot 1 - 2nd, and Jackpot 1 - 3rd Prize

In the event that there are multiple winners in different Jackpot 1 categories and the Jackpot 1 amount was RM10 million, the amount paid to each winner will be divided according to their bet amount and each winner's share of the Jackpot will be re-proportioned such that the total payout is never more than 100% of Jackpot 1 published amount for that particular draw.

For example, the Jackpot 1 amount is RM10 million and if there were:

  • 1 winner from Jackpot 1 1st prize (100%),
  • 1 winner from Jackpot 1 2nd prize (50%); and
  • 1 winner from Jackpot 1 3rd prize (25%).

The winners will win the following:-

Prize Multiple Winners
Jackpot 1
1st Prize – 100%
100
(100 + 50 + 25)
x RM10 million
= RM5.71 million
Jackpot 1
2nd Prize – 50%
50
(100 + 50 + 25)
x RM10 million
= RM2.86 million
Jackpot 1
3rd Prize – 25%
25
(100 + 50 + 25)
x RM10 million
=RM1.43 million
  TOTAL JACKPOT 1 PAYOUT = RM10 million

If there were:

  • 2 winners for Jackpot 1 1st prize (100%),
  • 1 winner from Jackpot 1 2nd prize (50%); and
  • 1 winner from Jackpot 1 3rd prize (25%).

Prize Multiple Winners
Jackpot 1
1st Prize – 100%
100
(100 + 50 + 25)
x RM10 million
= RM5.714 million / 2 winners
= RM2.857 million each
Jackpot 1
2nd Prize – 50%
50
(100 + 50 + 25)
x RM10 million
= RM2.857 million
Jackpot 1
3rd Prize – 25%
25
(100 + 50 + 25)
x RM10 million
= RM1.428 million
  TOTAL JACKPOT 1 PAYOUT = RM10 million

If there were:

  • 1 winner for Jackpot 1 1st prize (100%),
  • 2 winners from Jackpot 1 2nd prize (50%); and
  • 1 winner from Jackpot 1 3rd prize (25%).

Prize Multiple Winners
Jackpot 1
1st Prize – 100%
100
(100 + 50 + 25)
x RM10 million
= RM5.71 million
Jackpot 1
2nd Prize – 50%
50
(100 + 50 + 25)
x RM10 million
= RM2.86 million / 2 winners
= RM1.43 million each
Jackpot 1
3rd Prize – 25%
25
(100 + 50 + 25)
x RM10 million
= RM1.43 million
  TOTAL JACKPOT 1 PAYOUT = RM10 million

Note: The above is an illustration only. The exact amount calculated will be rounded up to the nearest Ringgit.

Sharing Jackpot 2

If there is more than one winner for Category 2, the Jackpot 2 prize will also be divided amongst all the Category 2 winners in direct proportion to the bet amounts of their respective winning bets.

Maximum Prize Money Rule

For Category 3 to Category 5, if the total payout in any single draw should exceed RM10 million, its Prize Money shall be accordingly reduced until its total payout is less than or equal to RM10 million.

For example, if there are 110,000 winning entries for Category 3 that win RM100 each, resulting in a total payout of RM11,000,000 (i.e. RM100 x 110,000) for Category 3. Since this total payout amount exceeds RM10 million, the Prize Money for Category 3 shall therefore be adjusted downwards as follows:

RM10,000,000 divided by 110,000 = RM90.90

(We round this up to RM91) Under such very unlikely circumstances, each winning entry of RM2 for Category 3 shall then win RM91 instead of the original RM100.
